Looking at the exterior of this chateau in the Dordogne Valley in France, it’s hard to guess what’s hiding inside.
The stately, rectangular-shaped house spans matching witch hat turrets at each end. The symmetrical stone facade is interrupted by three levels of windows – the lower rungs are vaulted, the others are shuttered. A dark sloping roof contrasts with the gray stone walls. A gently sloping stone staircase leads to the entrance.
The gift to what’s inside is at the front door. A window in the form of a long segment of a circle breaks one side of the wood surface – starting with the balanced appearance on the outside.
